Luneville needle, available in size 80 and 120. Size 80 is the standard size that will work fine with the fil-a-gant and ‘sewingmachine yarn thickness'. With size 120  you can use a thicker decorative thread when there are no beads and sequins used.

A very fine and soft embroidery wool made for Au Ver a Soie by La Route de la Laine in France. This lovely wool is finer than DMC Medici and comes in 8 meter hanks. There are actually 32 meters of wool as it easily separates into 4 individual strands. 

100% wool

fil-a-gant is the best thread to use for beads and sequins. The thread is very thin and strong. Originally it was used to make gloves (gant) so it is very strong. It is made of 100% cotton and waxed. 150m per bobbin

Probably the most well known embroidery thread. It is a 6ply thread, strandable and has a beautiful sheen. The basic material is Finca® Mouliné made by Presencia Hilaturas in Valencia®. The needle you should use is subject to the number of plies and the technique you are using(embroidery #1-10, tapestry #18-28).

Seven ply stranded thread, i.e. the thread consists of 7 single strands of spun silk, that have been loosely twisted. It is easy to pull out each strand individually. The shine is rather dull. It is spun of short silk fibres and relatively "elastic" and will easily lay flat on the fabric. The single thread is slightly thicker than the more well-known stranded cotton, but much softer and more “fluffy". It creates a very smooth surface.

The n°40 metallic thread is for hand or machine stitching. It is made from a thin gimped metalloplastic strip. Metalloplastic signifies that it is not made of metal, but a metal-like material. A gimped thread is made of one thread wound around another in a coil. On this thread, the coil is so tightly wound that there is no space between the coils, which is why it remains intact, even when used on a machine. 100 m. per bobbin.

This is a long needle size 80 used for Indian embroidery. In stead of stringing the beads to the yarn, you string them on your needle and drop them one by one on the loop of your chain stitch.

Bobbin holder to keep your bobbin in place during embroidering.

Gimp is traditionally the material for the making of kwatjes. It is a cotton core wire that is tightly wound by viscose yarn. With this yarn you can get many different sides, think of the use in passementen, French/ chinese knots and couchen, " or the alignment of an embroidered piece.

The yarn is about 1 mm thick.

Crochet hook with a latch. You're needle won't get stuck with this latch. This needle is thinner than the clover needle and gives smaller holes. This needle needs a 300 holder and doesn't fit the 120 or 80 holder. It does fit the clover kantan holder.

Because of the small latch on this needle you do not hav eto turn your needle while making your chain stitch. The latch ensures that your needle won't get stuck in your fabric. This needle does leave a larger hole in you fabric.
